1 Down, 1 To Go. . .

I am participating in this weeks Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch blog. I love looking at what other people "transform" and every Monday this blog has links to different bloggers and their transformations. Go and check them out!

I mentioned in a post or so before that I wanted new white rocking chairs on my front porch but didn't want to spend the money to buy new ones. Especially when I had two perfectly good, matching wooden rockers already. So instead, I decided to paint them. I have successfully painted one of them and have one more to do. I think they look great and they definitely brighten up the porch.

(Before)

(After)

These are the opposite rockers, as you can tell from the opposite side of the porch in the photos. I forgot to take a picture before I started painting this one.
I am very please with how this one turned out and can't wait to finish the other one.

I love the meta Mondays - you have changed a chair to white, and it looks perfect, and another person changes their chairs from white to black, and it looks perfect too! I think it is all about getting a fresh start and a new perspective, and there are many ways to achieve this.

Thanks for the inspiration!

This was a perfect change for your porch. No need to let a good rocker die before its time. The paint extended its life!

I have two white rocking chairs on my porch too. We bought them 30 or so years ago in Gatlinburg. Over the years I have painted them several times. I don't have to tell you it's not an easy job! Yesterday I noticed one of the back rockers has rotted and fallen off; looks like I'll have to have it replaced and that means another paint job! Yours look great. I hope you enjoy sitting in them as much as we do!
